John Pawson

The Span tables and benches for Salvatori are conceived as a family of simple, functional pieces for inside and outside use, fabricated in a palette of Carrara marble, sandstone and cherry wood. The character of the collection derives from details of proportion and from the precise manner in which horizontal and vertical, curved and angled, smooth and textured elements combine. The design thinking originated in the specific context of a 17th century farmhouse and its associated agricultural structures in Oxfordshire, subjects of a major renovation and remodeling project.
