Vestiges

As the year turns more resolutely towards its closing phases, the eye becomes more attuned to marks revealing the passage of time and process — a trod path through a field of cut wheat, the fleeting patterns of light and shadow on surfaces of stone and water, the bright bloom of oxidation on a section of steel and the ghost traces of formwork on a concrete wall.
