‘The dialogue between client and architect is about as intimate as any conversation you can have’. Robert A.M. Stern

Likewise the dialogue between a client and a finished piece of architecture is about as intimate as any conversation you can have. The following sequence of photographs was taken by the owner of an apartment in the West Village, overlooking the Hudson, in the months after work on the interior finished. Her perspective on the spaces, the light and the life contained reinforces the underlying truth that clients do not simply bring the money and the occasion, they make the work real.
