‘Snow provokes responses that reach back to childhood’ Andy Goldsworthy

For the majority of the year, the context of this chapel on the edge of the forest is a painterly canvas of a thousand greens and browns, of varying vividness. This same landscape winter snowfall renders monochrome. On the structure’s exterior the drama of the contrast between the cut and the debarked surfaces heightens, while the interior is filled with a radiant haze of reflected light.
