Paros House III nears completion

As well as sharing common vernacular precedents, each design in this unfolding sequence of Cycladic houses is located on a south-facing plot with sea views, on or close to the shoreline, with the detail of individual conditions defined by topography, prevailing wind conditions and view orientation. In these circumstances it has been possible to push to an unusual degree the idea of what site-specific means. The outcome is a family of intimately related designs that draws on a recognisable collection of shared architectural moves, but where each is finely calibrated to the nuances of a particular site.
