Kitchens increasingly represent the main living quarters of a house,
with cooking, eating, relaxing, entertaining and working all taking
place in the same room. What is required is a design which allows each
of these activities to take place in space which can seamlessly and
repeatedly reinvent itself. The best sort of kitchen does not look like
a conventional kitchen, but should perform as efficiently as a
restaurant.
The John Pawson Kitchen System for Obumex is designed to be a flexible kit of elements in which
every detail is considered, where all visual noise is subdued and where
waterspout and taps become pieces of domestic sculpture. The kitchen is
available in a variety of finishes - wood, stone and steel.
