Following completion of the cloister, this second major phase of the Novy Dvur project creates a self-contained complex of accommodation for visiting priests and the families of the community within an existing vaulted sheep-byre. Once finished, the new architecture will allow the monastery to honour certain obligations of hospitality with minimal disruption to the community’s daily life of prayer and work.
