John Pawson
The site acquired for the new Cistercian monastery of Novy Dvur was an estate of 100 hectares west of Prague, between Pilsen and Karlsbad. The estate included a baroque manor house and three wings of agricultural buildings framing a courtyard. Uninhabited for more than forty years, the structures were in a state of considerable dereliction.
