Unbuilt
This design for the redevelopment of an urban site in the north of
England houses a range of functions, including the town's market and
museum. Rather than assign separate territories to each, the scheme
superimposes the two functions within one double-height, light-filled
space. In place of architecture which formalises the distinctions
between functions, here is a model which fosters resonances between
ostensibly diverse activities.
